Serving with MMI in Peru (2012) |
Additionally, I have developed a strong desire to help
people regain their physical independence. This was largely after having lost
my leg in high school and experiencing how satisfying and humbling it is to
have that independence restored, largely through physical therapy. I feel that God is calling me to merge both
of these passions through a medical mission trip to Sangolqui-Pintag, Ecuador through
Medical Ministry International (MMI) from September 12-26th, 2015. MMI is an organization that specializes in
providing spiritual and physical health care to those in need around the
world.
During this trip, I will be a part of a mixed medical team that
will provide dental, general medical, orthopedic, and physical therapy care as
we travel to different surrounding villages daily by bus. The area is home to 80,000 people with no
formal health center or dental care available.
In addition to providing physical and medical care, we will also be praying
for opportunities to encourage and uplift our patients spiritually while we are
working with them.
I would ask that you prayerfully consider joining our
team through your support. First, please partner with me in praying for the
people we will be serving and for my health and effectiveness as a team
member. By partnering with us in prayer
you become a large part of all God will do through us down there. Secondly, I
ask you would consider supporting me financially for this outreach. The total cost
of this two-week project will be about $2,300 and includes project fees and
airfare. If you would like to join the team in this way, you can make your
tax-deductible donation online by going to https://medicalministrytrips.org/projects,
click “Make A Payment” and choose the Ecuador-Sept 12-26th trip,
then include my name in the volunteer space on the following screen.
I am very excited about this opportunity and would love to
answer any questions you might have about my involvement in this trip to allow
you to pray more specifically for myself, my team members, and our future
patients in Ecuador, so please feel free to reach out! Thank
you for praying & being a vital part of our team!!
